Alumni Lack Standing to Sue
To Prevent University Affiliation
Granting NYU rights as sole member of Polytechnic,
leading to merger in 5 years, does not violate NPCL

A group of concerned alumni of Polytechnic University in New York State does not have standing to challenge a move to make New York University the sole member of the corporation leading to a merger or consolidation in five years.  A trial Court in Albany has held that they have no special interest in the proposal, and even if they did, it does not violate the state’s Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.  (The Committee to Save Polytechnic University v.
